About Life and Hope Association (LHA)
Established in 2005 by the Buddhist monks at Wat Damnak, Siem Reap, LHA is a non government organisation focusing on breaking the cycle of poverty through providing education, social support and compassionate care to the communities most vulnerable young people and their families, bringing HOPE into LIFE through education.
Education remains elusive for many of Cambodia’s young people especially from farming communities where there are high levels of economic hardship and a lack of schools. The founder of LHA, Venerable Somnieng, understood that one way to help these young people, particularly young women, was to get them back into school and enable them to complete their high school education and help them on to university, so the PAGE programme was born.
We currently have 3 programmes:
- PAGE Programme for Advancing Girls Education
- Sewing Vocational Training Programme
- Sustainable Communities Project
